Just a really good slice of life
This whole Cute Girls Doing Cute Things came to a pleasant ending or at least I believe there will not be another season after this. This movie features the whole cast grown up having jobs which was such a breath of fresh air. Who knew something so simple of a changeup can make such a fabulous and entertaining anime movie. There were new and cute designs to the characters too. That looked nice and seemed to fit the character’s personality well. I especially loved Rin‘s new hairstyle which appealed to her maturity as she was now an adult working an office job.
The story
In this movie there was actually a goal in where the characters met up again to accomplish a campsite using their past experiences when they were in school which was so sweet and had many funny moments where I just felt like straight up laughing in the quiet movie theater.
I would say that the art wasn’t too impressive when you compare it to big studios with outstanding production like Ufotable however it was still nice and reminded me of the time I watched the 1st and 2nd season as if nothing had changed at all.
Although I noticed near the end, the animation did seem to improve.
The characters
Characters’ personalities were not altered in any way, but you can still see their growth as a character. I believe you see this in especially in Inuko because she eventually became a teacher. She had to show responsibility which was also shown in her role for the creation of the campsite.
What I loved about every character is that even though they appear to be different. They still carried the same ambition and personality traits that they did when they were all younger. Rin got a normal job but was always happy to take on a load of work. Nadeshiko‘s affection to camping brought her to work at a store that could help camping beginners. Inuko became a kind teacher that all students love. Ena became a dog groomer since she adores dogs. And well Chiaki, she got a pretty normal job but what surprised me the most is how she became similar to the teacher Minami, who loves drinking.
Overall
Overall this movie was very enjoyable and was such a solid slice of life nobody could possibly hate and when you end up seeing the movie I hope you enjoy it as much as I did because I absolutely loved the fun and heart pounding moments of the Laid-Back Camp Movie.
